San Diego, Calif. - September 11, 2007 -- Verari Systems®, developers of platform-independent blade-based computing and storage solutions, today announced that it has joined the VMware Technology Alliance Program as a Select Partner. As a VMware Select Partner, Verari is able to work more closely with VMware to provide its customers with high-value virtualization solutions that directly address the complex challenges facing today's data center. Verari is showcasing its virtualization technologies at VMworld 2007, held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, September 11-13.
"IT organizations are seeking a less complex and more flexible IT environment while reducing their total cost of ownership within the constraints of limited power, cooling and floor space," said David Wright, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Verari Systems. "Blade servers and virtualization each confront these issues, but in combination, their value is compounded, providing an exceptionally compelling data center solution. As a Select Partner of the VMware Technology Alliance Program, Verari will continue its focus on enabling the Green Data Center and help our customers take full advantage of today's virtualization strategies through efficient manageability."
Verari is currently delivering virtual-ready blade servers for its BladeRack® 2 product line that are optimized for VMware ESX Server, a component of the VMware Infrastructure 3 software suite that enables server partitioning. Unlike many commercially available blades that are underpowered for VMware ESX Server, Verari provides true high capacity server blades that are designed for production use with VMware ESX Server with no compromises. The Verari virtual-ready blades offer a variety of processor choices, memory capacity and storage strategies as well as comprehensive management with Verari Command Center™ (VCC). VCC can directly recognize and support virtual machine-based blades and combinations of physical and virtualized servers, seamlessly manageable from a single interface.
"Verari's focus on enabling next-generation IT infrastructures makes them highly qualified to be a member of the VMware Technology Alliance Program," said Brian Byun, Vice President of Global Partners and Solutions, VMware. "The comprehensive program provides technical and marketing benefits that help enable Verari to accelerate deployment of its virtualization-focused system platforms for our mutual customers."
As a further consolidation benefit, Verari Systems' BladeRack 2 can support heterogeneous combinations of compute, storage and back racked desktop blades in a single rack. The ability to mix and match infrastructure supports the model of a "Data Center in a Box," including but not limited to the ability to shape the total power density of a data center. Customers adopting Verari hardware and VMware Infrastructure realize benefits in power, density, cooling and scalability, while experiencing new ways to exploit virtualization of compute, storage and desktop resources.
